Kansai International Academy has nine campuses in Kansai and six in Tokyo, with kindergartens and early learning centers, and one Elementary and Secondary School in Kobe. The Kobe campus is authorized for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB/PYP), Middle Years Programme (IB/MYP), and IB Diploma (IB/DP).
We are currently looking for a music teacher to work at a bilingual international school that offers the International Baccalaureate curriculum in Kobe. With a mission to empower its students into becoming globally-minded and multicultural individuals, the school immerses learners from Kindergarten to Secondary School students in a truly bilingual environment. We welcome a highly motivated, qualified and experienced music teacher who has knowledge of the IB philosophy and who is willing to collaborate with other arts teachers.
Required Skills:
・Developing our curriculum and program further in collaboration with other teachers and staff
・Applying constructivist, inquiry approaches to all teaching and learning
・Differentiating learning for students as necessary
・Commitment and motivation toward continual professional development
Qualification and Experience:
・Bachelor degree in Secondary Education Music (must)
・A teaching certificate from your home country (or another English speaking country) - must
・Teaching experience in a cross-cultural environment (preferred)
・Teaching experience with students whose English is not their mother tongue (preferred)
・Teaching experience in an IB school with secondary age students(preferred)
Work hours will generally be weekdays from 8:20 am to 5 pm. Transportation will be compensated up to 25,000 yen per month. All employees at KIA are eligible for social insurance and paid holidays.
