2025 April ALT in Nagano - AtoZ Corporation (Elementary School, Junior HS, SHS, Nursery school)

AtoZ is currently looking for ALTs (Assistant Language Teachers) at public schools in Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

ALTs play a crucial role in motivating students to learn English and assisting Japanese teachers. For students in rural areas, where opportunities to interact with people from other countries are more limited compared to large cities like Tokyo, time spent with ALTs is an invaluable experience.

Contract period:
April 2025 - March 2026
*Employment contract period may be renewed.

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (required for visa eligibility)
• Commitment to fulfill the contract period
• Willingness to relocate to Nagano Prefecture, Japan
• Enthusiasm for inspiring Japanese students to enjoy learning English

Preferred Qualifications:
• Valid Japanese driver’s license or an International Driving Permit (IDP) at the start of employment
• Conversational proficiency in Japanese
• Experience teaching Japanese students
• TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification

Key responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Japanese Teachers of English (JTE) to deliver engaging lessons
• Help students build confidence in their communication skills, particularly for public speaking and presentations
• Foster international awareness and cross-cultural understanding among students
• Lead extracurricular activities such as English Camps, debate competitions, and other special projects
• Provide cross-cultural insights and language training for Japanese English teachers

Conditions of employment:
- Salary 2,470,000 yen –3,000,000 yen/year

Working days and hours:
- Monday to Friday 8:15 am - 4:45 pm (Break: 45-60 minutes) *Depending on school
- School holidays: Summer and winter (Paid)

What is a Haken position?
We hire ALTs and dispatch them to local schools.
Therefore, your employer is AtoZ, but the workplaces are the local schools.
