A private elementary school in central Tokyo seeks a part-time music/art teacher who can teach the subject(s) in English for 2 lessons per subject per week. This is a private school following Japanese governmental course guidelines while implementing an English immersion program. A successful candidate will work collaboratively with Japanese co-teachers for team teaching.
The position could be for two subjects, or for one subject for two teachers.
TERMS:
November 2024 or April 2025
SALARY:
Nov. 2024-March. 2025
Music only...40,000 yen per month (2 lessons a week)
Art & craft only...40,000 yen per month (2 lessons a week)
Music and art...80,000 yen per month (4 lessons a week)
April 2025-March 2026
Music only...80,000 yen per month (4 lessons a week)
Art & craft only...80,000 yen per month (4 lessons a week)
Music and art...160,000 yen per month (8 lessons a week)
*fixed monthly salary paid (including during students' holidays)
*commuting expenses are reimbursed
*the number of lessons from April 2025 as well as salary will be doubled
WORKING DAYS and HOURS:
one or two days a week
working hour depends on weekly timetable
REQUIREMENTS:
current resident in Japan
experience in teaching at a Japanese elementary school
basic knowledge of music and/or art education
enable to deliver lessons up to 18-36 students
FAVORABLE:
understanding the Japanese school system by experience
dedicated, hard-working, flexible, resilient, easy-going

Japanese language skill could be plus to communicate with teachers and other staffs at school.
