Borderlink, Inc. is growing our HR division, and we're seeking seasoned educators who are ready to take that next step forward and join us as Human Resources Support (HRS) from Spring 2025 or earlier. You can further your teaching career while also expanding your skillset as a key part of our team.

[What is the HRS position?]

The HRS positions are for advanced ALTs who continue teaching in public schools, but now across a wider range of areas as substitute teachers. You'll get to see new parts of Japan as you visit different schools and enjoy a strong level of company support. As the daily commute times can vary, HRS substitute duties require a greater degree of initiative and self-reliance. There are also the possibilities of long-term and/or long-distance substitutions with overnight stays. Therefore, a flexible schedule and the ability to drive in Japan are essential.

As an HRS, you will also work at our offices and learn about the behind-the-scenes processes that go into hiring, training and supporting ALTs across Japan. Gain valuable knowledge of Japanese workplace culture, strengthen your personnel management, communication skills, and develop yourself in ways that will help you on future career paths. As you’ll often be working in mainly Japanese environments, strong Japanese abilities (or a willingness to learn more) are highly desired.

We're seeking to expand our HRS team for the 2025 school year, but this opportunity is also open to those looking and able to start earlier. In addition, HRS is just one step in an upward career path that continues further, making it ideal for those seeking a role with strong potential for long-term commitment & future growth. While this is an annual contract position, those interested in multi-year work are more than welcome to apply.

[Work Details]

● Work as an on-call substitute teacher
● Use your ALT experience to support our relationships with schools across Japan
● Carry out tasks in a Japanese office environment
● Learn about HR skills like teacher training and development, recruitment, and more

[Preconditions]

✔️ Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher
✔️ Have minimum 2 years of prior ALT experience (elementary and/or junior high-level preferred)
✔️ Have business-level Japanese skills (JLPT certificates are not required but are welcome)
✔️ Have basic computer skills and familiarity using Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Google Workspace
✔️ Have strong people skills (communication, problem solving)
✔️ Hold a valid Japanese Driver's license
✔️ Be able to work at the Saitama, Aichi or Osaka offices

[Preferred Points]

⭕ Have prior experience in corporate training/HR fields
⭕ Have prior experience in development of teaching materials
