Laurus International School of Science requires enthusiastic and experienced individuals for the positions of Qualified Secondary Mathematics/Science and Physical Education specialist teacher (or any combination of these subjects). Located in Shiba in the heart of Tokyo, Laurus International School of Science is the first and only STEM school in Japan. We embrace the latest technology and teaching methodologies to prepare the children of today for the world of tomorrow, and all the promise that holds. With a strong focus on science at all levels, we strive to develop each child’s inquisitive mind. Children are introduced to inquiry-based learning from an early age to foster their natural curiosity and thirst for knowledge. We promote project-based learning through a wide range of hands-on science experiments, perhaps working in one of our science labs or learning to use the latest technology such as programmable robots and 3D printers.

Position Overview:

We are seeking passionate and experienced Secondary Subject Teachers to join our dynamic faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education, with a commitment to inspiring and engaging students from diverse cultural backgrounds. The role involves teaching mathematics to secondary school students, helping them develop both intellectually and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver a comprehensive mathematics and or science curriculum for secondary students.
Teach concepts and principles, ensuring students gain a thorough understanding and appreciation of the subject.
Integrate technology into the curriculum to enhance learning experiences in mathematics.
Collaborate with other faculty members to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
Provide individualized instruction and support to students, fostering a love for learning and encouraging their academic development.
Stay current with developments in education and technology, incorporating new methods and tools into the classroom.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Fluency in English.
Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience in an international school setting.
Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to enhance learning.
Strong subject knowledge in mathematics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience living and working in an international setting.
Experience with Cambridge International Curriculum.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday

8:30 to 17:30 with a one-hour break (Various shift times available at 8 hrs work /1 hr break)
40 hours per week

Benefits:

Competitive salary package based on a 15-point salary scale based on qualifications and years of qualified teaching experience (minimum 410,000 yen per month)
