We are looking for friendly, personable, and professionally-minded candidates. Applicants who have teaching experience with children and/or EFL/ESL students are preferable, but this is not necessary for the position.
Our instructors teach classes that range from one-on-one private lessons to group lessons of up to five students for all ages and needs. The lesson schedule will vary depending on day of the week, but on average this position features work hours from the afternoon into the evening. The instructor will be responsible for planning lessons and will have no more than 26.7 teaching hours per week. The school is open every week for lessons from Tuesdays through Saturdays with exception to scheduled school vacation periods. A variety of teaching materials for the instructor to use are provided, but the instructor is also free to incorporate any materials that will enhance the learner's experience in class. Training and continual teacher development are provided in addition to five weeks of paid vacation during school breaks.
A furnished apartment nearby the school is also provided. The instructor will only have to pay a maximum of 55,000 yen monthly for the company-provided accommodation. This will include the unit rental fee, apartment grounds maintenance fee, apartment administrative fees, insurance, and other bundled service fees. BTIES will subsidize any amount exceeding 55,000 yen. In the case where the cost of the company-provided accommodation is less than 55,000 yen, the instructor will pay that amount instead.
Successful applicants will be asked to make an initial 18-month commitment; this will consist of a six-month provisional contract period, followed by a 12-month regular contract period.
Salary starts at 250,000 yen per month with pay raises at the start of a new 12-month contract. Work-related transportation expenses will also be reimbursed.
