Project GENIUS (Operating company: Korakuen English Centre) needs a highly motivated, adaptable, team player for a full-time ENGLISH TEACHER’S position in Chiba (near Tokyo) for the NEXT school year, which starts from April. Though the address is Chiba, it is located near Tokyo.

Our client, which is a prestigious private junior and senior high school, is looking for an English teacher.

The students at the private school regularly participate in debate/discussion contests, therefore, in addition to teaching regular English lessons experience, we prefer candidates who are adept at coaching students how to debate, discuss and/or make presentations.

In addition to the above, the school has some “returnees’ classes” and some of the students sometimes apply for universities in the United States and or other countries, therefore, it is preferable (not requisite) that candidates have experience in advising high school students on how to apply U.S. universities etc., which includes SAT preparation, drafting of personal statements and other application-related skills.

We prefer candidates that reside in the Ichikawa, Motoyawata, Nishi-Funabashi, area, however, those who want to relocate or eager to commute to the said area are also welcomed. This is a full-time position. Working days are either “Tuesday to Saturday” or “Monday to Friday” depending on other teachers’ situation. Also, we may have new openings in the same area, for example Nishi-Funabashi, Katsutadai, or along Tozai Line, so if you want to apply for such new openings, please apply through this advertisement as well.

Applicants should reply with a cover letter that shows evidence of their having read this entire job post. It might also be a good idea to check out our website.

• Salary: 280,000 yen to 320,000 yen + Transportation expenses. Salary shall be determined based upon English teaching experience, debate coaching experience, or others.
• You get paid the same amount every month, even during summer and winter vacation. Other agencies cut teacher pay while school is not in session. We do not do that.

If you are an educator serious about making the world a better place, then we want to work with you! We want to employ the best educators in Japan.

We expect our teachers to take initiative in the work that they do, to problem-solve with us and with the client school, to find ways to maximize their value-added.

The teachers that we value most highly are those that not only strive to get the best possible results at the schools where they are working, but also seek out opportunities to learn from other educators across the greater community of educators.

Teaching is an art in every sense of the word. We believe that we can always do better. And that's what makes us the best.

We only accept applicants who have English as their FIRST LANGUAGE. Also, working visa holder only, however, we can provide a visa sponsorship when you renew your current working visa.
