ALTIA CENTRAL is accepting applications to join our team of fantastic ALTs for an opening we have in Makinohara City, starting immediately. If you would like to work in a public school with one of the most reputable and successful companies in the ALT industry, then please apply now.
Makinohara lies on the southern coast of Shizuoka and is a great area with mild climates, famous for beaches, surfing, and green tea. Although within the prefecture of Mt. Fuji, here you will also be surrounded by beautiful ocean views and rolling green tea fields. The city is an hour or so to Shizuoka City, the biggest nearby urban center with lots of big-city things to do, and just 30 minutes or so from nearby Yaizu and Kakegawa, both with over 100,000 people each as well. We are looking for a few great people to fill several positions in the local elementary and junior high schools there.
ALTIA CENTRAL will be conducting weekday and weekend interviews on an ongoing basis at our head office in Nagoya and our Kansai office in Osaka to fill this and a handful of other openings we may have this September so we are looking for as many great applicants as possible.
Our company, ALTIA CENTRAL, enjoys an excellent reputation and is a highly respected company both with Boards of Education and amongst the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with a number of contracts in Osaka, Hyogo and the greater Kansai area as well.
We offer a stable, reliable and extremely professional support system and our ALTs enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including generously paid vacation periods. We also provide excellent teacher training, an amazing array of educational resources and other benefits. Please visit our recruiting website for further details about our organization.
ALTs work in public schools assisting the Japanese teachers, and helping to provide a positive and energetic experience through English for the students. It’s a great chance to learn and use the Japanese language on a daily basis, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly to be positively involved with the development of young children. If you have the desire to accept this type of responsibility, please contact ALTIA CENTRAL.
Successful applicants should be available for a few days of Orientation/Training session from before the contract start date, and before moving into our company apartment to be ready for an early September 2017 start.
You must be flexible, enjoy working with young children, and be motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for their students. A strong desire to live and work in Japan, good Japanese language skills, and teaching experience with young learners is also highly recommended. A minimum BA/BS degree is required, and a degree in a relevant field such as Japanese, Japanese History, East Asian Studies, Linguistics and the like are particularly useful though not absolutely necessary. Applicants who are able to drive in Japan are preferred.
