• English: Native Level (with a clear English pronunciation)
• Japanese: Preferably Intermediate but Basic will do
• Must currently reside in Japan
• Visa can be provided (depends on length of English teaching experience)

Fun House Language School is currently looking for an experienced English Instructor. We teach kids (from as young as 3 years old) and adult lessons. We are a small school working on expanding steadily and we care about a friendly, easy-going, and professional team. Job Description:

- Conducting entertaining and informative kids group lessons according to Fun House curriculum
- Help planning, creating, or updating the curriculum
- Writing short monthly reports
- Participating in the planning and execution of seasonal events such as Halloween, Christmas, (Easter) and Summer Festivals
- At the start attending up to two Training Days (depending on your experience / for both kids and adult lessons) and observing 2 to 3 lessons (depending on experience) in order to refine your skills and to adjust to the Fun House teaching style (no payment for Training Day and Observation / travel expense is covered)
- Attend a meeting for teachers for feedback exchange and so teachers can get to know each other
- Conducting Adult lessons (Man-to-Man and Group lessons)
- Creating a plan for a lesson style and help choose an appropriate textbook to achieve students’ goals
- Giving back feedback on the student’s progress
- Taking up new adult lessons in order to help the school expand
- Taking a genuine interest in the development of our students over the course of a school year
- Administrative work
o Write and send monthly teachers schedules
o Organize office material
o Help organize schedules and update curriculums
o Have regular meetings with head of Fun House
o E-mail correspondence with head of Fun House and teachers to deal with certain type of schedule issues

Job Requirements:
- Native English skills
- Must currently live in Osaka, most school locations are in northeast Osaka
- Must currently posses a valid visa with work permission

Candidates with the following attributes will be given top consideration:
- Genuinely loves kids and teaching (can entertain but teach informative lessons at the same time)
- Has experience working with younger and older kids (from 3 to 12 years old) and is willing to work on teaching skills
- Has experience teaching adults and group lessons and can adjust teaching style to all kinds of learner types and levels
- Is planning on staying longer in Japan
- Is punctual, reliable and has a professional attitude
- Is positive, easy going, flexible, but also motivated to work on and refine their teaching skills
- Can work independently, has a good time management as well as administrative skills, and can work efficiently
- Is trustworthy, especially when it comes to efficient time management
- Understands and accepts cultural differences and language barriers in working with Japanese staff and management
- Cares about the students’ progress

Working Hours, and Salary information:
- 10~15 hours / week (fixed, plus transportation fee)
e.g. ¥120,000~¥180,000 / month
- holidays are not paid
- Fixed lessons: Most kids lessons are between 3 – 7 pm (from Monday to Friday, busiest days are Monday, Tuesday and Friday) and most adult lessons are in the early evening (last lesson finishes at 8pm)
- Fixed lessons are included in the 10 hours / week. The remaining time is being used for administrative work and other tasks described above as well as for new students who join the school. The remaining time can be adjusted to one’s own schedule and to the management’s schedule (can be discussed in the interview)

Preferable start is end of March for a smooth transition into April.
