Description

English Spot Language School is looking for full-time, Native English Instructors to work at its Tamatsukuri and/or Imazato School locations, IMMEDIATELY.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS:

We need highly responsible, highly motivated, hard-working, highly enthusiastic, native speaker instructors who LOVE TO TEACH, and who

1) have experience in teaching English as a Second Language to children and adults;

2) have a great way with people, both students and staff, regardless of age or any language barrier;

3) possess great care for the students, the job, their own performance, and the school, and love teaching children, as well as adults;

4) are able to shape the environment INSIDE the classroom for the students, and, working with the secretaries, can meet with and talk to perspective students and parents in our lobby to create a welcoming environment OUTSIDE the classroom, as well;

5) can meet with the demands imposed by a sometimes changing class schedule and the varied tasks needed to assist the owner in the operations and upkeep of the school.

TEACHING REQUIREMENTS

Instructors must be able to teach (or to learn how to teach) General English (listening, speaking, reading and writing skills), TOEIC, TOEFL and IELTS prep classes, as well as prepare students for Junior Step and Step (EIKEN) Tests. As the curriculum expands, other kinds of classes may be required of the teacher. Initiative to learn is required!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and teaching.
1) regular classes in our ES schools, of up to 5 students, from pre-school to adult;
2) intensive courses (usually during the spring and summer public school breaks);
3) Eiken preparation classes (from approximately one month before the exams);
4) dispatch classes at local schools, kindergartens and companies, if required.

Developing the curriculum.
Student placement (deciding and matching students with appropriate level classes).
Maintaining and promoting the schools.
Planning events, including Halloween and Christmas events.
Discussing school, student and teacher needs with the owner on a regular basis.


OTHER PREREQUISITES

A current working visa is preferred.

English teaching experience is strongly preferred.

Instructors are also encouraged to utilize other skills and talents they may have to enrich their classes or contribute to the overall development of the school, ie. a musical talent, web design, or another language.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Hours: 40 hour work hours per week.
Lessons: Up to 6 lessons per day.
Preparation Time: At least 2 hours of preparation time per day.

TRAINING: Is provided and ongoing.

CONTRACTS: One year and are renewable.

SPONSORSHIP: Possible.

TRANSPORTATION: Covered up to 400 Yen one way, 800 Yen round trip.

VACATION: Nearly 4 paid weeks off a year plus 10 paid holidays.


ADVANCEMENT:

ES is looking for people to grow within ES, whom the owner can depend on to handle any kind of teaching situation, and who can not only come up with ideas that will benefit the students and the school, but who can take the actual initiative in their implementation.
