Opening for a Native English Speaking EFL Teacher
Information
English House is an English Conversation School located in Hitachinaka City (pop. 160,000), Ibaraki, Japan. Our school has been in the community for over 25 years and our students range from babies to adults. We are seeking a teacher that will help us meet our goal of providing the best possible lessons and service to our students each and every day. The ideal teacher for our school should be professional, friendly, approachable, patient, and LOVE working with both children and adults. The teacher MUST enjoy singing and dancing, be willing to accommodate to new teaching techniques and company expectations, and have a strong work ethic. The teacher MUST also be interested in learning Japanese and be accepting of the culture and people. Lessons are taught using music, rhythm, various materials (flash cards, hand puppets, story books, textbooks, etc.) and activities based on our curriculum.
Position
The position is full-time with a one year contract and 25 to 30 teaching hours per week. The remainder of the working time is used for meetings, lesson planning, classroom preparation and various duties. The starting date for the position is March 14, 2018 and the work schedule for the teaching position is Tuesday through Saturday. There is also approximately 8 weeks of fixed holiday throughout the school year.
Requirements
• Native English speaker
• 4 year university degree
• Valid Driver’s License and a Valid International Driver’s License
• International teaching experience
• Good health and Non-smoker
• Experience teaching young children
Preferred
• Teaching certificate
• Japanese language skills
• Experience living in a foreign country
• Musical abilities
Salary
• 250,000 yen per month
• 2-week training period (fixed rate per day)
• A monthly housing fee of 40,000 yen will be deducted
Housing
A furnished 2-bedroom apartment is provided for 40,000 yen per month and is located five minutes from the main school on foot. No key money or deposit is required. The teacher is responsible for Gas, Electricity, Water, Telephone, TV, Cable, Internet, etc.
