Description
The Design Engineer will be responsible to improve group capability for new model development which requires capability of controlling project in quality, cost, design and delivery. To develop future E&EDS (Electronics & Electrical Distribution System) products and to improve current product design to maintain position as primary development partner for HONDA/HRA-O, as well as to improve overall business conditions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Create/review overall project plan to achieve customers’ needs and company strategy for new model development.
Control/manage products from quality, cost, design and delivery areas to achieve the targets through development activities.
Communicate/coordinate (as liaison) between customers and internal design section for development activities.
Overtime may be needed for meetings with Japan for customer requests discussion or supporting meeting.
Create high quality drawings for E&EDS circuit diagram, components and assemblies using Catia V5
Analyze the specification requirements to determine the feasibility of the E&EDS product, applying engineering principles in product development.
Coordinate, and support customers and internal design reviews activities.
Work with other design engineers to review and establish alternatives and countermeasures against design review results.
Support new business competition through application engineering of new technology, new products and other value added proposals.
Presentation skills required.
Interface with customers on all technical aspects of E&EDS future trend, countermeasure for field concern and VA/VB investigation
Support product maturation activities.
Domestic and international travel may be needed for visiting suppliers.
(Plant training or Corporate training in Japan will be needed and provided).
