Exciting opportunity available at a small, private English conversation school located in Northern Okayama prefecture in Japan.

Continuously teaching a variety of lesson types to diverse groups of students ensures the job remains challenging and interesting. Having autonomy over lesson preparation, teaching techniques and occasionally even the subject matter in lessons provides an active and fulfilling role. The contract is a one-year extendable contract for 35-40 hours per week. However, We are looking for a candidate who wishes to remain in Japan and work at Connect for at least 2 years. In addition to the competitive salary, we offer numerous perks to our instructors: personal use of a car and bicycle for the duration of the contract, use of a personal laptop computer and Apple iPad for the duration of the contract, a yearly performance related pay rise to those instructors who extend their contracts beyond one year, plus an annual performance related, significant cash bonus. We offer 6 weeks of paid vacation per year (dates set by the school calendar), plus all Japanese national holidays.
Instructors are required to reside in Tsuyama city and a fully furnished apartment is provided with rent being deducted directly from the instructor's monthly salary. The instructor is responsible for his/her monthly utility bills.
New instructors are welcome to apply for the position. However, experience of teaching
English as a second language is preferred. Full, comprehensive training along with follow-up appraisal and guidance is provided.
The succesful applicant will demonstrate a passion for teaching, a desire to meet new people and the ability to work well as part of a small team.
