If you are interested in teaching English at a kindergarten then Sakura English Immersion Pre-school in Tochigi could be for you. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated teachers to teach English to a combination 2 to 6 year old kindergarten students and 7 to 10 year old elementary school students at the school.
Applicants should have at least a Bachelors degree from a recognized institution, be passionate about teaching children and preferably have some English teaching experience in Japan. Preference will be given to those who have taught children, taught at a kindergarten before or have a teaching, music or drama major. We are only accepting applications from native speakers of English.
Salary starts from 250,000 yen a month, however, there is a 10,000 stipend if you are in possession of a Teaching Degree and 5,000 yen stipend for those in possession of TEFL/Celta/TESL certificate.
Should you wish to rent an apartment and live alone, the school can provide assistance in the form of 10,000 yen per month. You will need to pay 5000 yen for the school lunch that is to be eaten together with the kids. Participation in teachers club activity, by paying 2000 yen/month and 300 yen/month for parents club activity is mandatory.
We can also negotiate about using a company car if you prefer to drive.
Paid Spring (1 week) Summer and Winter (2 weeks) vacations, National holidays, plus five days sick leave. Visa sponsorship/renewal available (must have a degree). Health insurance is mandatory and the responsibility of individual teachers.
Five days of teaching from Monday to Friday. There are 7 special events throughout the year (such as Sports Day, Graduation, Christmas concert etc.) which fall on weekends and are compulsory to attend and are unpaid. The teacher must also make themselves available for a staff meeting one weekday evening per month. Applicants must also have basic computer skills, genuinely enjoy working with children and interacting with them between classes.
