About Misaki Town
Misaki (美咲町, Misaki-chō) is a town located in Kume District, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
As of March 1, 2004, the town has an estimated population of 18,776 and a density of 76.57 persons per km². The total area is 232.15 km².
Misaki was founded on March 22, 2005 by the merger of the towns of Asahi, Chūō, and Yanahara, all from Kume District.
For many years Misaki Town and Thames in New Zealand have shared a sister-city relationship conducting student and cultural exchanges. The most recent being students from Thames visiting Misaki in 2017.
About the position:
The placement will be in elementary school, Junior high school, and pre-school in Misaki Town, Okayama Prefecture, where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning the school, cultural festivals and help students for speech contests.
Contract term:
Immediate start – March 31st, 2021

Conditions
・Monthly base compensation: From ¥220,000 per month (It will be decided after some interviews)
・Working hours: Monday through Friday / From 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
・Placement: Elementary school, Junior high school, and pre-school (weekly once) in Misaki Town
Qualification
・Excellent English skill
・Holder of a university Bachelor's degree (or higher)
・Holder of a valid visa status that allows work in Japan (visa sponsorship/renewal available)
・Holder of a Japanese driver's license or international driving permit
・Able to speak conversational Japanese: communication is crucial for planning and creating lessons with Japanese teachers of English. We also highly suggest that teachers be able to be involved with the communities here.
