English Teacher (expired)

Job:

Teach children and adults. Full-time, 5 days/week, 28 class hours/week. 255,000 yen/month.

Native English speaker and BA required. Entry-level, mid-career, or any experience level welcome. Must love children!

Applicant not required to reside in Japan. Will sponsor or renew visa.

National holidays and six weeks paid vacation/year.

Position starts beginning of April, 2023. One-year renewable contract.

Accommodation:

Sunny private apartment, at the foot of Mt. Fuji!

All deposits paid. Included with apartment: refrigerator, automatic washing machine, room AC/heater, bilingual TV, and basic furnishings.

Apartment located three minute walk from school.

The apartment is spacious and comfortable and in a nice neighborhood. Internet connection is included. It has a parking space, convenient for visiting friends, or for yourself if you have a car.

It is convenient to shopping, dining out, sports, exercise and other leisure activities. There’s a 7-11 across the street; supermarket, post office, clinic, bank, train station 6 minutes or less on foot; home center, tennis courts 7 minutes by bicycle. Yeti and Fujiten snow resorts nearby.

Location:

BECS is picturesquely located near both the sea and mountains, on the coast at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Also we're close to Izu Peninsula, Hakone, Fuji Five Lakes and other scenic areas. There are plenty of hot springs, sightseeing attractions and natural areas nearby.

Because of Mt. Fuji and ocean currents, this region has the mildest climate in Japan, both in summer and winter.

Fuji City is a mid-sized city, and there is a good selection of restaurants, movie theaters, nightlife, internet cafes, and shopping in Fuji City and nearby. Also it is easy to get away to the countryside or go to Tokyo.

Working Environment:

BECS has been in business for over 33 years. We're well-known in the area and have a good reputation. Many students come to us through word of mouth, and we have a lot of returning students, and kids of former students!

We teach students of all levels, ages and motivations, from beginners to returnees, from pre-kindergarten to retirees, and from students wanting to enjoy time with foreigners to workers needing English for advancement.

We take great care to motivate our students, by being friendly with them, using fun games and activities as well as textbooks, and supporting them in taking kids' Eiken, adult Eiken, TOEIC and other tests. We want our students to enjoy their time in class but also to see the results of their progress. And we're proud that our students do well in school, achieve good results on Eiken, TOEIC and other tests, and succeed at international work assignments and study.

Our teachers have also expressed great satisfaction at seeing their students' achievements and mastery of English skills.

The school is spacious and bright, with a salon, teachers' office, four classrooms, and lots of windows. To make work easier for our teachers, each has their own desk in the office.

We have a large collection of cards, games, toys, pop-up books and other teaching materials that we have bought in the U.S. and brought back here.

We provide initial training and ongoing support, and have extensive resources for teachers to expand their skills.
