About Kanoya City:
Kanoya City is located in the southeastern region of Kyushu in Kagoshima Prefecture. Kanoya has a reported population of over 100,000 people. Its warmer temperatures at an average of 27 degrees (80°F) a year and its subtropical environments nurture a wide variety of amazing things: amberjack fisheries, excellent wagyu beef, chicken, black pork, and sweet potatoes. Not to mention the finest sweet potato shochu, a famous type of alcohol produced in this area. Beachside drives and starry skies; this placement is perfect for those who want to feel and experience another side of Japan with a rich culture. Don't miss this opportunity!

About the position:
The placement will be in elementary schools and junior high schools across Kanoya City, Kagoshima Prefecture where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning the school, and cultural festivals.
