Description

Aichi International School is looking for qualified teachers for its popular kindergarten program. As a WASC accredited school offering English immersion kindergarten and bilingual elementary curricula, our school offers learner-focused and team-driven teachers a unique opportunity and professional challenge.

Roles & responsibilities of teachers at AIS include:
 
*Monitor children’s interactions and nurture safety, cooperation and sharing
*Design and follow a complete teaching plan respective of subject/grade curriculum maps
*Teach subjects in a fair and equal manner to all students in accordance with the current curricula in use at AIS, as well as age-appropriate personal, social and emotional skills
*Organize learning material and resources
*Use a variety of activities and instructional methods to accommodate and stimulate children of all abilities
*Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information
*Assess students’ performance and progress on a regular basis to ensure they are mastering set skills
*Cooperate with other teachers and administration staff
*Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations
*Maintain integrity of a professional teacher in accordance with AIS employee ethics and WASC accreditation standards

*Ability to be energetic, resilient and maintain a sense of humor when personal resources are challenged
*Achieve results with positive outcomes for children in the programs
*Effective interpersonal skills under all types of conditions, exhibiting a supportive, positive approach
*A high degree of personal initiative with good planning and organizational skills
*Maintain timely and accurate student achievement records
*Continue personal and professional development in related areas
*Preferably be already in Japan

Successful candidates will be offered an initial one-year extendable contract, with a base monthly salary of 300,000 JPY. Experience and transportation allowance also paid, along with contract completion bonus. Contract period runs from March 21-March 20, with working hours 8am-5pm Mon to Fri.
