Description

Are you looking for a change of pace in your teaching career in Japan? Want to escape the confines of the crowded, expensive urban sprawl and immerse yourself in a historical area full of nature and beauty? One that also offers a pleasant, calmer lifestyle that eases the burden on your wallet? Then read on, as we have an incredible opportunity for you!

Borderlink is currently seeking an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for the Fukushima Prefecture area. This position provides experience working at both elementary and junior high school levels, and is perfect for those seeking some variety in their teaching careers. This position starts immediately and we encourage all those interested to apply now to secure work in this wonderful region!

>>Position Details & Benefits

As an ALT, you would be responsible for co-teaching with Japanese teachers, making activities and materials, and helping to facilitate English language instruction. You will also make the language "real" by interacting with students throughout the day to help them actively apply what they learn in class. The ideal candidate is flexible with their teaching style and wants to make a positive impact on the lives of the students. Having prior teaching experience is desired but not required, as we will provide training prior to your starting date.

Please note that driving is required for this position, so candidates must hold either a Japanese or International Driver's Licence at the time of application. License holders who do not own a vehicle but are still interested in driving can also lease a company car from us. Furthermore, as the area can get snow in colder weather, applicants should be comfortable with driving in snowy/icy road conditions.

We can support you with finding an apartment in the area and compensate you for part of your moving fees upon submission of the receipt. We are also able to provide you with a visa sponsorship where applicable. This position comes with enrollment in social insurance (health insurance and pension), making it excellent for those looking at staying in Japan long-term.

The successful candidate will also be provided a yearly calendar to help manage their other commitments. Finally, depending on the candidate's performance and evaluation throughout the year, there is a possibility of receiving a pay increase upon renewing following the completion of the contract.
