Job Title: Grade School Assistant Teacher - Part Time
Type of Contract：Part Timer

Shonan International school is located in Tsujido district in Fujisawa, caters towards students from Kindergarten to Middle School. We are committed to providing children with a bilingual education program with a strong commitment to Japanese language, culture, and curriculum while developing commitment to intercultural understanding.

Currently we are applying to become an IB World School to offer the Primary Years Programme.

■ General Description:
Primary responsibilities will include:

・Teach Grade 1 Reading and Writing abiding to the lesson plan provided
・ Teach Grade 1 Math abiding to the lesson plan provided
・ Assist the School Wide Action class
・ Observe and report student social and emotional behavior
・ Willing to apply discipline consistent with the school’s social & emotional approach
・ Assisting safety for outdoor play, lunch duty
・ Assisting safety for Physical Education Class
・ Assisting safety to prepare and close their classes
・ Assisting Curriculum Director to prepare for materials in class
・ Once to twice a week of homework club (16:15-17:00)
・ May be assigned as substitute teacher when teachers are sick or on leave

■ Prerequisites for Employment
・ Successful applicants and will meet all qualifications and behavioral standards set by the school.
・ Must have at least 3 years’ experience teaching Grade School students that provides specific subject learning
・ Willing to apply discipline consistent with the school’s social & emotional approach
・ Willing to learn and apply safety skills and classroom management based on the school’s method
・ Basic understanding and skills needed (email, internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
・ Basic knowledge and operation of Google (documents, spreadsheets, slides)

■ Summary of Essential Functions:
Teachers must:

1.Maintain open communication with students
2.Work collaboratively to achieve school goals
3.Use instructional methods and learning materials provided by the curriculum coordinator
4.Record and report student behavior
5.Attend to safety and health procedures to students
6.Participate in weekly Professional Development and Pedagogical Meeting (PD and Curriculum)
7.Lunch Duty and monitoring Outdoor Play

■ Contractual Term: July 1st, 2023 to April 30th 2024
■ Days of Work: Monday~Friday
■ Working hours:
Monday：8:15〜16:15
Tuesday：8:15〜17:15
Wednesday ：8:15〜16:15
Thursday：8:15〜16:15
Friday：8:15〜1615
■ Payment: 1,500yen~1643 yen per hour
■ Transportation Fee: Up to 20,000 yen per month
■ Holidays: Saturday, Sundays, National Holidays, Winter Break, Spring Break
5 days in August, 12/29-1/8 holiday,
