ALTIA CENTRAL has recently re-earned a contract in Obu City, just on the southern border of Nagoya City and easily accessible from almost anywhere in the Nagoya area. We are looking to fill a handful of Elementary only and Junior High school only ALT positions from the middle of May. Most of these schools can be accessed using public transportation so non-drivers can certainly work here.
We will be conducting interviews on an ongoing basis at our head office in Nagoya in order to find as many positive and friendly people as we can to fill these public school ALT positions. We also travel to other cities such as Tokyo, Shizuoka, Kyoto, Osaka, Okayama and Hiroshima to meet applicants as well so please ask us about our upcoming weekend schedule if you wish to interview outside of Nagoya.
Our company, ALTIA CENTRAL, enjoys an excellent reputation and is a highly respected company both with Boards of Education and amongst the English teaching community in Japan. We operate mostly in the Chubu area, especially Aichi, Gifu, Mie, and Shizuoka prefectures, areas further west such as Shiga, Okayama, and Hiroshima, along with several contracts in the Kansai area as well.
We offer a stable, reliable and extremely professional support system and our ALTs enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including generous, fully-paid vacation periods. We also provide excellent teacher training, an amazing array of educational resources and other benefits. Please visit our recruiting website for further details about our organization.
ALTs work in public schools assisting the Japanese teachers, and helping to provide a positive and energetic experience through English for the students. It’s a great chance to learn and use the Japanese language on a daily basis, to experience and appreciate cultural differences, and most importantly to be positively involved with the development of young children. If you have the desire to accept this type of responsibility, please contact ALTIA CENTRAL.
Successful applicants should be available for Orientation/Training for several days in early May before starting in school from the middle of the month.
You must be flexible, enjoy working with young children, and be motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for their students. A strong desire to live and work in Japan, good Japanese language skills, and teaching experience with young learners is also highly recommended. A minimum BA/BS degree is required, and a degree in a relevant field such as Japanese, Japanese History, East Asian Studies, Linguistics and the like are particularly useful though not absolutely necessary.
*Please understand that only applicants considered for interview will be contacted and that we do not have any positions in or near the greater Tokyo area.
