Description

Tokyo International School Afterschool is accepting applications for a vacancy at our Minami Azabu campus. This is a part time Saturday position starting ASAP.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and energetic teacher. The candidates must have a university degree and two years experience working with children, and be passionate, energetic and hard working.

POSITION DETAILS: The position is a Saturday School position. Saturday School has two class time slots: from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. Our Saturday program is open for children aged between 4 and 11 years of age with classes divided into age and level. Most of the classes are EFL level students but there are also some Returnee classes. Currently we need a teacher for an afternoon class only but there is the possibility of a morning class being added at some point (in this event the successful candidate will be given the choice to teach just the afternoon or both morning and afternoon). The class we have available is a returnee class for 6th grade elementary students.

LOCATION: TIS Afterschool has five campuses; 4 in Tokyo (Naka Meguro, Minami Azabu, Roppongi Ichome, and Kachidoki) and 1 in Kanagawa (Center Minami). The current position is for a vacancy at our Minami Azabu campus which is located near Shirokane Takanawa station.

START DATE: ASAP

COMPENSATION: 10,000 yen for a half day (for one class) and 20,000 for a full day (for two classes) with transportation fully reimbursed.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: resumes will be screened to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews for teachers who are able to come to our Naka Meguro HQ, or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a trial lesson. Following the trial lessons a final decision will be made and the successful candidate will start as soon as they are able to.

We look forward to receiving your application.
