This task will involve listening to different computer voices in Japanese and providing ratings and comments according to how natural they sound. Participants’ feedback will be used to develop existing technologies in computerised voices in order to improve their authenticity.
Detailed Task
These projects involve listening to different TTS voices read the same sets of sentences and providing a number rating for how natural they sound, and then answering some open-ended questions about what makes the voices natural/unnatural and why.
Requirements (skills, education, linguistic discipline, additional expertise, etc.)
Native speaker of Japanese in the Kansai, Hakata or Nagoya dialects (grew up in Kansai region, Aichi prefecture or Kyushu).
Able to complete the task as soon as possible to meet our deadlines.
