M’s English is a growing, private English conversation school with over 15 years’ experience in the Maebashi-Takasaki area of Gunma Prefecture.

We are currently seeking full-time native English speakers to teach at our school. We have positions beginning in January and March (pending visa approval). We specialize in English conversation for students of all ages/levels. We also publish our own elementary texts and have a well-developed nursery school, business, and university visit program.

A strong work ethic, solid communication skills, technological competence, willingness to learn new things, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility are all musts. Enthusiasm, musical inclination, knowledge in the fields of mathematics and science, positive energy and a cheerful disposition will make your time here enjoyable and greatly benefit the students. All skills and interests will be considered, but experience working with children or in education is strongly preferred. In addition to orientation training, we provide ongoing hands-on training that will assist you in your development as an educator. Positions of responsibility and possibility of promotion (with corresponding pay incentives) are available to diligent teachers who are dedicated to their development as working professionals and educators. Position: Full-time Native English Instructor

Location: M’s English, Takasaki City and Maebashi City, Gunma

Requirements:
Eligible applicants:
- must hold a valid International Driving Permit or Japanese Driver’s License
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field
- Native English ability
- Citizenship from a country where the official language is English

Job Description & Responsibilities:
λ Actively communicate and cooperate with a multi-national staff on projects, lessons, and events
λ Teach English to both children and adults at our school
λ Teach English lessons outside of our school
- Kindergartens, nursery schools, culture centers, universities, companies etc.
λ Plan lessons and prepare conversation activities for lessons
λ Plan and participate in all school events
- Elementary students’ performances, seasonal events, textbooks fairs, etc.
λ Participate in planning and making materials to be published


Contract, Remuneration, Benefits & Holidays:
The successful candidate will be offered a contract through March 2020 or 2021 with the option to renew for the next academic year and a salary based on teaching experience. In addition to the benefits listed below, staff may receive annual raises and bonuses according to their contribution to the company and the company’s financial performance.

1.) Teaching Experience: No experience
Starting Salary: 235,000 yen per month
After the initial contract period, salary will be increased every 3 months (or faster)
based upon performance in the classroom and contribution to the company.
2.) Teaching Experience: Three years or less in Japan or abroad
Basic Salary: 250,000 yen/month*
The month after the first full year, the Employee will receive a 20,000 yen bonus
and a raise, bringing the basic salary to 255,000 yen/month.
3.) Teaching Experience: More than three years in Japan or abroad, less than five years
Basic Salary: 260,000 yen/month*
The month after the end of the first full year, the Employee will receive a 30,000 yen bonus and a raise, bringing the Basic Salary to 267,000 yen/month.
4.) Teaching Experience: More than five years in Japan or abroad, Basic Salary: 270,000 yen/month*
The month after the end of the first full year, the Employee will receive a 40,000 yen bonus and a raise, bringing the Basic Salary to 275,000 yen/month.

Misc. Benefits

We also offer additional salary benefits to teachers in the following situations. All amounts are paid as a bonus upon completion of 1 year at M’s.
• Master’s degree in TESOL/TEFL holders: 30,000 yen/year,
• CELTA holders: 15,000 yen/year
• TEFL Certificate holders (obtained on-site, inclusive of practicum): 10,000 yen/year
• TEFL Certificate holders (obtained online, minimum 120 hours): 5,000 yen/year
• JLPT N2: 10,000 yen/ year
• JLPT N1: 20,000 yen/ year

M’s English also offers up to 30,000 yen in support upon the successful completion of a teaching certificate program (50% paid, 30,000 yen maximum).


*Initial Contract Period:
Employment begins at the beginning of January or March 2018 (we have two positions available). the first three months of employment will be considered the Initial Contract Period. From the end of the Initial Contract Period, payment of the aforementioned Basic Salary will begin.
λ Initial Contract Period remuneration is as follows:
- First month’s salary: Pro-rated dependent on start date, 200,000 yen maximum.
- Following two months’ salary: \230,000/month (160 total, 5 days a week)
- Initial Contract Period completion bonus of \40,000

National Health Insurance: It is mandatory for the Employee to enroll in National Health Insurance (kokumin kenkou hoken) and pay the premium every month to comply with the Immigration Laws of Japan. The Company shall provide a \10,000 monthly allowance paid to the Employee in the addition to the Basic Salary to subsidize the insurance premium paid by the Employee.

Holidays: Two consecutive days a week, one week for Golden Week in May and one week for Silver Week in September, summer and winter breaks (two weeks each).
