Description
TIS Group has been working with a chain of nursery schools in central Tokyo for the past 14 years to provide them with English classes and nursery support. We currently have three full-time teachers working at 10 schools. We have had the same group of teachers for the past 6 years. However, our longest serving teacher has just informed us that she will be returning to her home country.
The work day is broken into a morning and afternoon block with the teacher traveling between two schools each day. There are four schools in total on this schedule and they are located near Musashi Koyama, Meguro, and Tamachi stations.
Each school has at least three classes (0-1 year old, 1-2 year old and 2-3 year old). Some schools also have 3-4 year old and 4-5 year old classes. Each block the teacher has 3, 4 or 5 short English classes and the remainder of the block involves general nursery work (helping take the children on walks, supervising play time, feeding, cleaning etc).
The position is a Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM schedule.
This is a unique program with the curriculum taking a sensory approach and teachers using an iPad as well as props and regalia to help students to explore using their senses.
The successful candidate will love working with young children, be patient, friendly, energetic and hard-working.
This position begins at the end of September or start of October.
