QC Civil engineer is required to support the QC activities of international and domestic construction projects. Qualified candidate should have a minimum of 6 years QC experience in large construction projects, a 4 year university degree in civil engineering, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Japanese language skills are also helpful. Position is based in Japan with possibility of international business trips.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with quality inspections and quality matters with sub-contractors and vendors
• Verify that quality related activities are in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and competed
• Assure all technical documents relative to quality control are current status
• Complete and coordinate approval of QC technical submittals
• Ensure quality records, acceptance certificates, mechanical completion certificates and documentation for specific systems and buildings/areas are prepared and collated in accordance with project requirements
• Coordinate with the planning and scheduling department to ensure milestone dates are understood for each turn over area
• Coordinate with QC manager for the completion of as-built turnover documentation
• Resolve any discrepancies between the completed milestone and quality documentation
• Provide progress information for incorporation into project reports
• Consider the implications of delays in QC as-built turnover documentation and bring to the attention of QC manager
• Monitor and control the status of punch list and exception lists relevant to quality dossiers
• Attend the weekly QA/QC and other relevant meetings
• Support other QC related tasks as requested
