Description

FUNDRAISING AND COMMUNICATION MANAGER

We are looking for a practical person who will help us strengthen our firepower in promoting our mission and activities.

As the person in charge for Fundraising and Communication, you will be at the center of the Italian business community in Japan. You will be an ambassador for our Chamber to the stakeholders - Members, sponsors, institutions, consistently conveying ICCJ's core mission, activities and achievements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
*Fundraising*:
• You will help develop a consistent fund raising strategy for the Chamber
• You will be responsible for the success of our major fundraising activities, namely the recruitment of new members and the search for new sponsors to our initiatives (festivals, gala dinners, competitions) with a particular focus on Japan
• You will have a say on how our events and our Chamber are presented to stakeholders, and contribute to create or revise our promotional materials according to our sponsors' needs
*Communication*:
• You will help the Chamber develop a consistent communication strategy across the diversity of its activities
• You will exert a tight control on ICCJ touch points, particularly ICCJ newsletters and social media and, by engaging internal and external stakeholders for contents, you will guarantee a constant flow of news and information about our Chamber’s activities and achievements
• You will help the Secretary General in making sure that the quality of ICCJ outbound communication (e.g. flyers, website articles and announcements) is always at the expected level
Other activities
• According to the level of your skills and attitudes, you will help the other staff in general activities of the Chamber (occasional translations, draft revisions, attendance to events etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Your professional record should clearly show an ability to successfully raise funds for high-impact initiatives (festivals, contests, concerts, courses etc.) or to sell important PR/marketing projects to clients
• Business level Japanese with excellent communication skills and ability to use the correct registry for the target audience - we are not asking for any JLPT level, but for full autonomy in written and spoken communication
• Excellent written and spoken English
• A passion for accurate and clear communication – ambiguity in communication or sponsorship agreements may cost millions
• Basic IT skills (email, word processing, excel sheets, simple image manipulation, social media awareness and experience)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Three or more years of professional experience in fund raising, PR or account management (work experience with European companies a plus)
• Energetic, proactive personality with strong motivation to engage people
• Copywriting, art direction experience in social media campaigns
• Ability to cope with ambiguous or changing requirements, and to endure stress for short periods of time (two-three weeks)
• Fluency in Italian

WHY WORK AT ICCJ
• Continuous contact with the best of Made in Italy
• A thriving network of distinguished companies and professionals
• Access to wonderful events and seminars
• Broadly shared respect for holidays and time off - compatibly with clearly defined and stated business necessities during big events or missions
• A young, positive and collaborative environment

HOW TO APPLY
1. Please make sure your skills match with the minimum qualifications above. We are very confident they are all necessary.
2. In your cover letter, please concisely answer the following three questions (five lines each): 1) which among the ICCJ initiatives (as visible on our website) has more potential for growth and why? 2) Tell us about an episode in which you were instrumental in the success of a project with critical constraints of budget and time. 3) What difficulty may Italian companies specifically face when entering the Japanese market? Please be specific on what may regard Italy rather than express general concerns on language/cultural barriers etc.
3. After reviewing your profile and answers, there will be up to three interviews, the first to assess minimum requirements, the second to evaluate motivation and cultural fit, the third to negotiate employment conditions and timing.
