Description

SI-UK Education Council is currently seeking a highly motivated Manager with strong leadership, marketing and business development skills for our English Language Centre located in Shibuya, Tokyo. SI-UK was founded in Japan in 2006 and is a leading global student recruitment agency with 14 offices worldwide. SI-UK assists students from over 90 countries making more than 25,000 university applications each year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operational management and strategic development of the SI-UK English Language Centre (ELC).
• Responsible for contributing to the ELC business plan and exploring new developmental opportunities.
• Ensure the smooth operation of the ELC, responding to issues as they arise.
• Grow overall revenue and profitability of ELC.
• Work closely with the Japan Operations Director, Marketing and Sales teams, to maximize ELC sales through the development of market-oriented courses and marketing campaigns.
• Oversee the design, delivery and management of teaching and assessment material.
• Oversee faculty recruitment, management, scheduling, training and evaluations.
• Advise management on all aspects of ELC and English language provision.
• Provide on-going review, evaluation and improvement of programmes, courses and customer service.
• Support the professional development of faculty members.
• Serve as a liaison for the ELC regarding partner relations, programmes, student success and concerns.
• Support the activities of the Study Abroad Division as needed (student counselling, document editing, promotion of consulting services, etc.).
• Teaching group and private English lessons including IELTS/TOEFL/TOEIC/PTE, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), Business English and English Conversation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• 2-3 years of operational management experience essential, preferably in an educational context.
• Business development and marketing background.
• Able to effectively lead and manage a team; you will be reliable, flexible, responsible and organised.
• Ideally the candidate will have an MA TEFL/TESL/Applied Linguistics/DELTA and/or an MBA or degree in Management.
• Candidates must hold at least a bachelor's degree and possess a native speaker level of English competence, preferably with experience working and/or studying in the UK.
• Teaching qualifications and curriculum development experience highly desirable but not essential.
