Description

The Parent Liaison Officer is a crucial point of contact for families with our school as well as a key person involved in PR activities/events and marketing programmes.

KEY OBJECTIVES:
- To promote and protect the School’s image within the school and local community and beyond.
- To foster close and positive relationships with all BSN families and to inform according to the school’s vision.
- To work closely with the other departments to ensure all the school’s media materials and electronic information are regularly updated and professionally presented and in-line with the Group standards.

- An extroverted personality who enjoys communicating with families and children
- Has an interest in different cultures and is excited by the possibility of life in China
- Is very organised and detail oriented
- Has a service oriented or event management background
- Is very professionally presented
- Has great verbal and written communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:
PARENT LIAISON
- Work with and cooperate with parental committees and groups when required.
- Deal with parent concerns and enquiries that are not direct teacher concerns promptly and efficiently
- Attend and cultivate an excellent relationship with all prospective and existing families, cultivating a positive relationship and ensuring an excellent overall experience.
- Working with admissions to assist in conducting school tours where necessary

PROMOTION
- Present the school, develop a long-term relationship with and engage all major relocation agents, HR departments of international companies, trade offices, business chambers, embassies/consulates, and other parties as appropriate in the community.
- Take a leading role in the organisation of PR events such as Open Days, Fayres, Coffee Mornings and other parent socials.
- Liaison with academic and other departments to maximise school presence within the community;
- Establish as many networks as possible within the Nanjing community;

MARKETING
- Work closely with the Group Marketing Manager to provide photographs for any advertising material used internally or externally for the school.
- Help to maximise school’s media exposure through sourcing and creating articles for local expat publications;
- Manage content and maintain accuracy and quality of all school publications;
- Make sure a supply of all publications is available to the school at all times;
- Arrange for and organise photographs of school events for school publications and website use.

WEBSITE/NEWSLETTERS
- Ensure each section of the school website is updated regularly and all content is professionally presented in line with the school image and group standards;
- Update news items weekly and collate newsletters half-termly;
- Ensure all school events are advertised in a timely fashion;
- Source articles and photographs for the school website and newsletter.

OTHER
- To assist in other areas of administration when this is requested by senior management

JOB DETAILS:
- Work is primarily Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00pm with a few weekend work days when the school is hosting an event or incoming family.
- We are seeking someone with an extremely positive attitude who intends to stay in Nanjing for at least 2-3 years.
