We are looking for a teacher with a minimum of 2 years of English teaching experience in a university/school/Eikaiwa environment to join our English teaching programs on the Teikyo University Hachioji campus. We are looking for teachers to teach primarily university classes, to teach primarily at an Eikaiwa open to the university students or a combination of both. The schedule follows the university calendar and therefore includes long holiday periods in winter and summer. Please note that this is a full-time position in that you will be working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week during certain periods which mostly correspond to the regular university semesters. During holiday periods, requested work is paid hourly.

POSITION:
We are now taking applications from teachers seeking employment to teach English (ESL) programs at the Teikyo CAMPUS EIKAIWA as well as UNIVERSITY lecture classes.

Full time period: PAY: 275,000/month during FT contract period. Hourly pay during other times.
Part time period: PAY: 3400/ teaching hour

Starting date:
March/April 2017

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 2 years’ experience of teaching groups of students.
Able to provide a balance between fun and instructional English lessons.
Strong teaching skills and code of ethics.
Strong organizational skills.
Professional attitude.
Strong work ethic.
Independent.
Punctual.
Basic Computer skills. (Ideally able to use Windows and Office with a Japanese operating system.)
Comfortable with using office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, copiers etc.
TEFL/CELTA (120 hour courses or more) certification is preferred but not mandatory.

SCHEDULE:
Semi-Full time: The contract is a split full-time/part-time contract. The full-time period covers the one 15-week semesters of the Eikaiwa course in the spring and 11-week period in the fall. A payment of 27500 Yen will be split over the months of August and September. All other work in periods outside the Eikaiwa course dates is paid on a part-time basis.

SCHOOL:
Teikyo university classes, primarily provided for English majors with the goal of studying abroad.
The Teikyo on-campus Eikaiwa is a 4 lesson/week (40min per lesson) conversation course that is offered to Teikyo students, teachers, and staff.

Paid training will be provided.
