Description

We are currently looking for one candidate for Bando city, Ibaraki as a locally referenced "Senior ALT".

A Senior ALT has responsibilities different than that of a typical ALT. It is necessary to sometimes perform normal ALT duties, but also on other days to be available to assist other ALTs, or to offer on-the-spot guidance for Japanese staff to better communicate with ALTs. There is also occasional request to work in kindergarten, to lead ALT meetings, or to assist with materials creation.

The successful applicant should live in or be willing to commute to the area immediately.

Location: At various junior high schools, elementary schools, and kindergartens, differing daily based on the needs of the schools.
Through March 2019 with all school days. No work during much of the summer and winter breaks and on national holidays. Possible new yearly contracts if all parties are satisfied. (205 work days if the entire school year starting in April)
Salary: 220,000 yen per month. August pays 100,000 for the summer holiday stipend.
Transportation allowance is already included as part of the the salary.

If hired, there is a requirement to attend a meeting with the BOE and go through a basic medical check up.

This position requires travel throughout the city with sometimes visits to two schools in a day. If not able to drive, it would be recommended that a candidate be very comfortable on a bicycle and also live in or very near the city. We can help the new employee to find housing as well as to arrange a rental car, if needed.

Preference is given to candidates with ALT experience, driving ability, some Japanese ability, and a higher than usual proficiency in English. However, we are looking to consider all candidates who have a great and helpful personality and who would be positive for the schools.

With the position, the Heart Corporation offers our teachers permission to find additional work within the specifications of the visa and comprehensive training.

We look forward to hear from you soon, and will be responding quickly to any candidates who pass our screening. Thank you for your interest!
