Full-Time International Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher (expired)

Starting April 2017, experienced teacher required for international preschool/ kindergarten and afterschool program in Ichinomiya, Aichi.

Acorn International Preschool is looking for a fun, energetic, passionate, and committed teacher to join our team as our school continues to grow. Teachers who have strong organizational, computer, social media, artistic or teaching aptitudes among various other talents and interests are encouraged to apply. Early childhood training and/or experience are definite advantages, but enthusiasm and the ability to work unsupervised are the key requirements. Experience with curriculum development is a plus. Japanese langauge skills are helpful but not a neccesary, as we do not usually use Japanese in the classroom.

We are a small team working in a rewarding environment which values educational programs and children’s well-being over financial gain. We believe that when children have fun while learning, they discover more and learn more deeply and as a result we are successful with our program. Teachers who love to be in a warm environment with challenging but fun lesson planning will thrive in our school. The position is full-time or 40 hours per week. Approximately 30 hours of teaching and 10 hours of non-teaching time (preparation time) per week. Monday-Friday with no weekend classes. All after school classes finish before 7:00 PM. The position requires at least a one year commitment and contract renewal for excellent teachers is both encouraged and rewarded.
