2022-23 Part-Time Kids English Teachers at Nagoya YMCA（期限切れ）

We are looking for experienced, creative part-time English teachers for the 2022-23 afterschool/Saturday/dispatch kids English programs as below.

STRONG CANDIDATES would be those who:
・have a degree in Education and solid English teaching experiences in Japan
・have a strong passion for nurturing children’s potential through education, and
・are organized, flexible, and able to communicate in Japanese.

[Contract Term for all the positions listed below]
April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023
*Start dates vary depending on positions.
*There are no lessons during summer, winter and spring breaks.
*YMCA will inform you detailed academic schedule at the interview.
*Available positions may be limited depending on the renewal of our current teachers' contract.

[Class Locations]
・Nagoya YMCA (Ikeshita): Chikusa-ku Nagoya
・Nanzan Family YMCA: Showa-ku Nagoya

[Schedule]
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday
Lesson Hours: 30 mins to 6.5 hours depending on the class between 9:30 to 19:00.
*Details will be explained at the interview.
*Teachers are required to arrive early enough (at least 20-30 minutes before the lesson starts) to prepare for the lesson and stay for extra 10-15 minutes to interact with parents and tidy up the classroom.

[Students]
Kindergarten to Elementary school age

[Wage]
4,000 yen – 17,200 yen per lesson or per day
*Wages vary depending on positions.

[Public Transportation Allowance]
Maximum ￥1,500 for round-trip per day

[Responsibilities]
Job responsibilities include the followings:
・Plan, develop, and teach engaging, enjoyable, and educational English language lessons based on our teaching curriculum and additional instructions to help nurture the potential of our students through the English program (Teaching contents may include phonics, grammar, listening, speaking, reading, writing, theme study, arts & crafts, science, social studies, and P.E.). For some classes, curriculum may not be available and you will be asked to create your own lessons.
・Select teaching materials.
・Plan and participate in events such as Halloween and Christmas for your class.
・Set up your classroom before your students arrive and tidy up after class.
・Establish and maintain order in the classroom.
・Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
・Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to provide a duty of care for students and to protect and preserve all materials, equipment, and facilities.
・Interact with parents.
・Host observing parents.
・Host trial students.
・Cooperate and communicate with non-English speaking YMCA staff or kindergarten staff.
