Full time native English teacher for International School（期限切れ）

At Stellar International School we are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys working with kids. We have a full time teaching position available starting April, 2022. We are looking for someone who is very energetic, well organised and happy to communicate with students, parents and staff. We are a small family run business so keeping close relationships with everyone is very important to us.


<<Compensation>>
・ Salary: 250,000 ～ 270,000yen/month(based on experience).
・ MON to FRI.
・ Holidays: 8 weeks paid vacation (according to our school calendar).
・ Winter vacation - 3 weeks
・ Summer vacation - Almost 2 weeks. (At the beginning of the Summer Vacation we run a 2 day Summer school so Summer Vacation is roughly 12 days)
・ Spring Vacation - 1 week
・ Golden week - 1 week
・ plus a further 7 to 10 days of extra paid days off as per our school calendar.

Certain holiday lengths may be shortened or extended by a day or so due to yearly calendar adjustments and the days they fall on. However, there will always be a total of at least 8 weeks paid vacation. You will have all weekends off except when we have an Event. Event details below.

Please note, we also run a few fun events during the year for our students such as:
- Easter Egg Hunt Family Day
- Halloween Party
- Christmas Party
- Summer School (2 days)
- Spring School (1day)
We usually hold these on a Saturday or Sunday and you will be required to come along to them all.

Trial Period: You will be on a trial period for the first 2 months at a reduced salary (¥230,000) while training with another teacher(myself).

Work Hours:
Mon: 8:30 AM ~ 5:15 PM
Tue: 9:00 AM ~ 7:15 PM
Wed: 9:00 AM ~ 4:30 PM
Thur: 9:00 AM ~ 7:15 PM
Fri: 9:00 AM ~ 5:15 PM

Lunch: 12:00 ~ 13:00 everyday.

At Stellar we have 2 full time teachers - myself and another foreigner, 2 part time foreign teachers, and 2 Japanese staff. Preparation work for all our classes is quite minimal. We have prepared and planned most of our curriculum and materials. However, when new lesson plans or materials are needed we expect your cooperation in helping make them.

Our daily lessons:
・Preschool/Kindergarten: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
You will work along side another teacher in the Kindergarten from 9 to 2 each day. We teach up to 18 kids per day through a range of activities including monthly conversation topics, a phonics based curriculum, song and dance, arts and crafts, 1 hour outside play time, reading, writing and story time, and games.

・Afternoon Kindergarten: 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM (Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri). 3:00PM - 4:30PM (Wed)
In the afternoon you will be required to teach a 90 minute After Kindergarten class. This class is basically a shortened version of the normal kindergarten class without an outside playtime.

・After School Class: 5:30 - 7:00 PM. (Tues & Thurs)
A 90 minute class teaching Elementary kids aged 6 - 12. We have a set Eiken based curriculum so preparation is minimal.

・Parent and Baby class: 2:30 - 3:00 PM (Tues & Thurs)
A 30 minute lesson including songs, actions, flash cards and games.


<Requirements>
・ are currently living in Japan(preferably already living in the Numazu area)
・ are a native English speaker - English is your first language
・ have a University degree
・ are culturally sensitive, professional and have great communication skills
・ are interested and passionate about teaching children
・ are Covid-19 vaccinated and are cautious with regards to Covid-19
