Overview:

-Assistant English teaching in Japanese public schools
-Some positions pay a monthly rate, and most positions pay a daily rate, with the total amount earned over a year and the method of payment made clear when a final position is offered

-If unable to relocate, positions would mostly require living within the Kanto, Southeastern Tohoku, or Mount Fuji areas, with positions in all Kanto prefectures, Fukushima, Miyagi, and Shizuoka

Heart Corporation is looking for native English speakers who wish to start a new life in Japan in the future! Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) jobs are available throughout the greater Tokyo area (called "Kanto"), and are perfect for a first job in teaching, or a first job in Japan! We have the capacity to hire dozens and dozens of candidates at the start of each new school year in April and hope to hear from many positive people!

Even if you have never taught before, we can give you the skills to be ready for this introduction into teaching. ALTs work along with Japanese licensed teachers to provide native English support as well as access to internationalization. For a fun-loving person who loves kids, much of the job would probably come naturally! While ALT work includes real responsibility, the right personality would find the amount of fun to be had with the job would far outweigh the effort!

Most positions are 5 days a week (Monday through Friday), but some lighter part-time positions are also available. Conditions regarding specific hours and salary depend on each city and its requirements. Applicants are requested to apply with the intention of working at least to the end of the school year. However, within the school year, there are lengthy vacations, especially in summer, to relax or to enjoy Japanese culture or travel!

Basic Requirements:
- Native-level English
- Hold or soon be able to graduate with an Associates or Bachelors degree (or equivalent).
- Basic Japanese speaking ability (or a desire to learn)
- Some teaching experience or experience working with children preferred
- Holding a driving license (of your own country) preferred
- Desire and ability to live and work in a foreign country and ability to be independent
