This position comprises three main roles, which will be shared with your office colleagues.
This role requires translation of various documents from Japanese to English and English to Japanese as well as interpreting services when requested by clients. It is important in this role to be able to communicate well with your colleagues, as deadlines can be tight.
This role requires the instruction of English for children and adults as an in home tutor where the student can feel comfortable learning English in a natural environment. As a head teacher, you will also make curriculums to suit student needs as well as lesson plans that will follow those curriculums. Head teachers also respond to any queries that teachers may have via email or phone as they arise. We have also recently begun a monthly teacher newsletter to which you will need to contribute as well as writing short Facebook posts to engage our students. Throughout the year Cosmopolitan Village Inc. holds various events and parties that are organized as a group effort by our head teachers and customer service staff. There are also monthly head teacher meetings to discuss any projects, problems, deadlines, and new ideas for English teaching or the betterment of Cosmopolitan Village. Also included in this role is research of textbooks, games, applications and teacher development programs to improve and find new ways to teach English.
You will be required to do general office duties such as answering phone calls, checking and replying to emails, and keeping the office presentable for clients. Also as part of this role you will need to check resumes of potential teachers, schedule and conduct phone and face-to-face interviews, and answer any questions that they may ask.
Translating/interpreting, office duties, and teaching: Starting at 260,000 yen (Training period 250,000 yen)
