Let’s make children love English together! Starting this April 2020, you can be a start of something amazing as Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Kami Town, Hyogo Prefecture!

About Kami Town:
Kami is a town located in Mikata District, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Kami Town consists of 3 wards; Kasumi, Muraoka, and Ojiro. Ojiro is designated as one of the Most Beautiful Village in Japan. This town is also the location of the Amarube Bridge, a famous railroad trestle bridge, and of the Tajima Plateau Botanical Gardens.

About the position:
The placement will be in elementary schools and junior high schools across Kami Town, Hyogo Prefecture where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning the school, and cultural festivals.

Contract term:
April 2020 – July 2020 (4 months)

Conditions
・Working hours: Monday through Friday - 7 hours between 8:00 AM to 17:00 PM
・Placement: Elementary schools and junior high schools throughout Kami Town

Qualification
・Native English Speaker
・Experienced ALT (at least 1 year) before
・Holder of a university Bachelor's degree (or higher)
・Holder of a valid visa status that allows work in Japan (visa sponsorship/renewal available)
・Holder of a Japanese driver's license or international driving permit in order to commute to schools
・Able to speak conversational Japanese: communication is crucial for planning and creating lessons with Japanese teachers of English. We also highly suggest that teachers be able to be involved with the communities here.
