Description

Job Overview: We are looking for someone who can teach academic writing TWO days a week starting IMMEDIATELY.

The teacher will be responsible for two one-hour writing classes, twice per week at an elite high school near Omiya in Saitama prefecture. Preferably the person has experience working with high level students who need help in writing persuasive essays. The person will also be responsible for creating writing assignments, correcting students' essays, and giving overall writing advice. The work conditions are excellent as the students are highly intelligent and motivated.

Location: High school near Higashi Omiya station in Saitama

Hours: 17:00 - 22:00 (Two days per week - negotiable to fit your schedule). A minimum of five hours per day is required at the school, but if more time is required to correct students' works, extra work time can be negotiated.

Remuneration: 5000/hr for teaching and 3000/hr for preparation, essay correction, meetings, etc. All transportation costs to and from school will also be provided.

Contract: Starting IMMEDIATELY to March 2019

Requirements: Must have degree from university or graduate school, current working visa, native English ability, experience teaching high-level learners, residence within 90 minutes of the school

Responsibilities: Preparing & teaching, creating, marking, & correcting assignments (essays), counseling, coordinating with manager and local staff, marking & correcting assignments, helping with curriculum/material development, participating in meetings, etc.
