Description

A native-English speaking teacher wanted for a 3 days/week (Tue, Wed and Thu), 5 hours/day (12:00-17:00) position at a university's English conversation space (located in Matsubara city, Osaka prefecture), starting 1 October 2019, to join a team of four teachers and work in a friendly and supportive environment throughout the spring and fall semesters and some extra dates for special programs.

University degree and valid working visa required. Teaching qualification (TESOL, CELTA, etc.) and 2+ year English teaching experience in Japan preferred. TOEIC, TOEFL and IELTS teaching experience desired but not required. ICT literacy a plus.

2,000–2,400 yen/hour depending on qualifications and experience (travel expenses not compensated).

The job involves engaging in free English conversations with students, giving private lessons, guiding other learning activities, providing homework support and advice on studying abroad, and organising and running events.

A successful candidate would:
- be a team player
- have a welcoming personality
- be willing to meet the students’ needs
- take initiative (creating materials, organising events, etc.)
- be social media savvy (hopefully)

Skills and experiences in various fields - such as business English, academic English (writing, presentation, etc.), TOEIC preparation, and interview preparation - are not necessary but would be valued. Life experiences and stories to tell would also be appreciated.

CV screening > 1st interview & demo lesson > 2nd interview > Registration
