EFL Instructors for Osaka English Village
Osaka English Village (www.englishvillage.co.jp) is looking for experienced and professional teachers to serve as English Facilitators at its facility located in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture. OEV is a unique facility that utilizes real-world situation rooms to immerse students in an American English environment.
Working under the direction of an English speaking academic supervisor, instructors make use of (and adapt) existing materials and lesson plans in ways to encourage communicative, real-world exchanges between visitors and instructional staff, as well as to lead more traditional after-school, Mommy & Me, and Summer/Winter Camp programs. Candidates with prior experience in non-traditional classroom settings, and/or a background in drama/theatre, physical education, music, or English education background are strongly encouraged to apply.
Full-time teachers on a one-year contract teach eight hours per day (with a one hour unpaid lunch break), five days a week with two continuous days off per week (not including weekends). Additional benefits include 25 paid vacation days and 5 paid sick days per year, as well as a 100,000 Yen completion bonus. Salaries range from 210,000 Yen - 250,000 Yen per month. Visa processing and housing costs are the responsibility of the instructor. Part-time teachers work four-hour shifts in the morning/afternoon, available 7 days a week, 365 days a year, at a rate of ¥2,000 per hour. Transportation stipends of up to 40,000 Yen per month are provided to all instructors, as is paid pre-service training.
