Rifu Bilingual Daycare in Miyagi is seeking an energetic educator to teach English and enjoy all kinds of activities with small children, from babies to age 5, Monday to Friday. The work day is approximately 8-12 and 2-6, with set lesson times and daycare duties in the mornings, and prep work, play time and some English conversation classes at the affiliated Imagine English School in the afternoons.

The curriculum, complete with original songs, is provided, along with extensive training, meetings and workshops so we all stay fresh and motivated. During lesson times you will be in charge of between five and fifteen fun-loving children split by age group, with the support of several Japanese daycare teachers. The rest of your time with the kids will be spent assisting them and their caretakers as they go about their day learning the life skills they need to thrive.

Experience working with children is a plus, as is a performing arts background of any kind. Currimundi has several bilingual daycares in Miyagi, and as you may occasionally be asked to visit others, a driver's license is a must. Though we provide lesson plans and props, we are eager to learn from your experience and encourage your creativity. At least a conversational ability in Japanese is required to communicate with your coworkers and fully enjoy life in Tohoku.

Due to the pandemic, we are unfortunately unable to accept applicants from outside of Japan, though we can sponsor a visa, and will even consider part-time work for nearby applicants who have their own spouse visa or similar. We can provide a semi-furnished apartment for rent, and a car for lease, if required.
