Description

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is an international organization responsible
for preserving cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations in more than 150 countries. Our work commemorates the sacrifices made by the Commonwealth forces during the two World Wars.

We are seeking candidates for the position of Senior Head Gardener at Yokohama Cemetery, Japan.

Yokohama War cemetery is one of the largest sites in the Africa and Asia Pacific Area, and details of it can be found on our Website

The role of ‘Senior Head Gardener’ is to support the Country Manager in the execution and co-
ordination of horticultural maintenance and administration including HR, Finance and External
Communications within Japan. 

The main responsibility for the role is to carry out daily horticultural tasks ensuring the standards of maintenance are met as efficiently and economically as possible in addition to the day to day leadership of the horticultural team. 
Success in this role will provide a path to development being CWGC Japan Country Manager within three years.


Essential Knowledge and Skills
・ Experience of operations management
・ Horticulture knowledge
・ Willingness to learn further about horticulture
・ Good command of written and spoken English
・ Competent in Excel and general IT skills
