Sunnyside International Kindergarten is a kindergarten within J Institute, which is located in Jiyugaoka. We offer preschool and kindergarten classes to children two to six years old.

Sunnyside's philosophy is to provide a high quality early education in English to both native and non-native students.

The core principles of the school are based upon several globally-respected approaches to early education, including the Reggio Emilia approach and the Montessori Method.
We advocate literacy and strive to foster a love of reading from an early age through our comprehensive literacy program.

We also teach an array of different subjects such as science, math, art, and physical education. Our annual events are Sports Day, Christmas Show, and Graduation.

Position:
We are currently looking for a part-time classroom assistant to support our school. The students are two to six years old.

Responsibilities:
Classroom Teaching Assistant
- Helping to support the teacher in the creation of classroom materials
- Helping to manage the classroom; including decorating, maintaining a clean environment, and childcare
- Caring for and interacting with young children (ages 2-6)
- Assisting other staff as required
- Helping with seasonal school sessions
- Supporting the school when needed

Requirements:
English Level: Daily conversation
Preschool Experience: 2 years or more
Attitude: Friendly, positive, energetic, and patient

Special Considerations for:
-College degree in education or related fields
-Valid overseas teaching license or certification in early education or child-care
-Knowledge of Reggio Emilia approach or the Montessori Method

-Those who have skills that can be taught in our after-school programs (Music, Dance, etc.)

Working Conditions:
Working hours (part-time):
Monday to Friday
Up to 6 hours a day
Payment: ¥1,300~¥1,600 (based on experience and qualifications, negotiable)
- Weekends: OFF

Probation:
All employees must complete an initial three-month probationary period, during which time necessary job training will be provided. After successful completion of the probationary period, successful candidates will be offered a contract until the end of the current school year, with potential to be renewed for another year after completion.
