Private Junior/Senior High School English Teacher in Oimachi Shinagawa Ward (from April 2021)

Are you looking to teach at a private junior and senior high school? Helping students, teachers, and schools achieve their goals in English language education? Paid summer, winter, and spring vacations?

Then we at Project Genius (Korakuen English Centre) want you to apply to teach full-time at one of our client schools (a private junior and senior high school) located in Shinagawa ward near Shimo-shimmei Station of Tokyu Oimachi Line or Oimachi Station of JR Keihin Tohoku Line and Rinkai Line.

This position starts from APRIL 2021.


Our compensation package includes (one year contract):

• Remuneration of ¥280,000 per month, higher for those possessing a TESOL-related master’s degree.
• Remuneration is not reduced during summer, winter, and spring vacations.
• Transportation expenses are fully compensated.


For this position we are looking for candidates who possess the following attributes:

• a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• lives within a reasonable commuting distance from the school to ensure punctuality. Teachers at this school are required to teach early morning classes are very difficult to make up if a teacher is late due to train delays. We do provide housing guarantor services for those who require it.
• experience teaching both solo and team taught classes of up to 40 students at a public or private secondary school in Japan and the ability to be the lead teacher in a team taught class. Most classes will be solo taught.
• willingness and flexibility to participate in occasional weekend and off-campus events, such as sports days and open campus days.
• ability to follow a curriculum established by the existing team of teachers.
• an enthusiastic and outgoing personality, with proven experience of eagerly building connections with students, staff and teachers, both Japanese and non-Japanese.
• IT skills, experience using Microsoft Office and Google Classroom.
• native-level English proficiency.
• current holders of visas allowing work in Japan, which we will provide support for renewing.
