描述

SparkDojo is an English communication training school located in Aoyama, Tokyo. (Under the current circumstances we have been providing our services online). We are, however, more than a school; our mission is to empower people who aspire to challenge themselves beyond borders. We aim to provide the most goal-oriented communication training program to ambitious individuals, and create a community of diverse talent that inspires, drives and supports each other.

Our trainers are not only English instructors, but also mentors, coaches, and motivators. They are therefore tasked with more responsibility than a regular English instructor usually is. SparkDojo trainers must have demonstrable problem-solving and interpersonal skills, as well as a dedication to achieving concrete results.

We are looking for talented individuals that want to work part-time or on a contract basis with us at their convenience.

Applicants must have a passion for working with clients and colleagues from a wide variety of backgrounds. As we are a start-up company, applicants must also be self-motivated, self-driven, and eager to take on new challenges.

We are also committed to our trainers' continued growth and skills acquisition. As such, additional opportunities are available outside of teaching. All of our trainers are also involved in business areas of their interest, such as Marketing, Sales, HR, and Product Design.

We are a diverse team; our trainers and staff are from the U.S., Japan, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Spain, Brazil, Ireland, and the Philippines. Our team members are also highly educated and experienced in a wide variety of fields, including consulting, IT, and government.

You:
Native or Fluent English speaker with a strong passion for teaching.
Resident in Japan with a valid visa. Since work would be executed remotely, you might reside in any prefecture.
Minimum 3 years of experience in any professional industry related to: education, consulting, finance, healthcare, IT, marketing, government.
Display a high level of confidence and leadership.
Have a strong sense of curiosity and a growth mindset.
Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and client needs.
Be client/service-oriented and possess a high degree of professionalism
Be able to work well under pressure.
Experience or skills in the following areas are preferred: teaching English, cross-cultural communication, linguistics, professional business communication.
Basic IT skills. Comfortable using Google Workspace products (including Documents, Sheets, Drive, and Meet) and Zoom. Possess knowledge of basic IT security protocols (i.e. password protection, two-factor authentication, etc.).

If all of the above sounds like a good fit, please apply to join our growing team!

Hourly wages start at 4,000JPY for experienced trainers, but may vary depending on the type of session and the skills required for it.

[Work Hours]
Project-based contracts are usually very flexible at the candidate’s convenience.
Part-time contracts depend on the Trainer and the client’s availability.

[Transportation Reimbursement - Internet allowance]
Work-related transportation expenses are covered.
