IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and energetic teacher to fill an EFL position at two nursery schools (that are located in the same building) in Nishi Kokubunji. Candidates must have a university degree and two years experience working with children, and be passionate, energetic, and hard-working. A conversational Japanese ability is preferred but not required.
POSITION DETAILS: The position is a Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm schedule and involves teaching English classes to groups of up to fourteen children aged between 3 and 6 years of age (classes are divided by age group). Teachers are given an iPad that is used for lesson preparation and teaching. Outside of class time, the teacher helps out as a nursery assistant.
LOCATION: The two nursery schools on this schedule are located 2 minutes walk from Nishi Kokubunji station.
START DATE: The start date for this position is the end of January 2022.
TRAINING: Initial training will be 1 week of on-the-job training (fully paid). There will also be support and training days provided throughout the year.
COMPENSATION: The first three months is a probation period and the wage will be ¥280,000 per month. Following probation, the wage will be ¥300,000 per month for the remainder of the first contract (subsequent contracts will come with length-of-service wage increases up to a maximum of ¥325,000). Transportation will be reimbursed up to ¥15,000 per month. The teacher will also be signed up for social insurance and pension.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS: We will screen resumes to check that minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews at our Meguro HQ or Skype web-interviews for those who live outside Tokyo. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications, and letters of reference. Following the first round of interviews candidates will be short-listed for a second round of interviews, which will include a trial lesson. At the completion of the second round of interviews, a decision will be made. Once that final decision has been made we will contact all candidates to inform them of the decision. The successful candidate will then meet with us again to sign employment documentation.
