Established in 1985, Tokyo International School Group (TISG) runs Tokyo International School Afterschool (TISAS), Tokyo International School Kindergarten (TISKG), and Tokyo International School Learning Through English (TISLTE) at our Nakameguro, Minami Azabu, Komazawa, and Toritsudai model school campuses in Tokyo. We also have franchise schools based in Kachidoki (Chuo-ku), Minato Mirai (Yokohama), Oimachi (Shinagawa), Maruyama (Sapporo) Shukugawa (Kobe), Kofu (Yamanashi), and Ohori (Fukuoka).
The Shukugawa campus runs all three programs (TISAS, TISKG, and TISLTE). The TISLTE Saturday program provides classes once per week of 180 minutes in length. Students are placed in classes based on their age with the program open to kindergarten and elementary students.
We are currently looking to hire one Teacher for a morning class and afternoon standby with the TISLTE Saturday School program from November 2021.
POSITION DETAILS: The morning class is from 10:00 to 13:00 with the teacher required to start work at 9:30 am. The teacher will then be on standby for the afternoon class, which is from 14:00 to 17:00.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a confident, dedicated, and passionate teacher. Candidates must have a university degree and two years of experience (ideally working with elementary students in Japan).
LOCATION: The current position is for a vacancy at our Shukugawa campus which is located near Kurakuen-guchi station on the Hankyu Koyo line and Shukugawa station on the Hankyu Kobe line.
START DATE: We have an immediate start position as well as a position that starts on April 1st start.
TRAINING: A combination of in-person and online training will take place. The teacher will be paid for their time during training,
COMPENSATION: The wage will be ¥10,000 for the morning class and then ¥3,000 for standby if no coverage is required. If coverage is required for the afternoon class, the pay will be ¥20,000 for the day. Transportation is reimbursed.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS: Resumes will be screened to check that the minimum requirements are met. Candidates will be contacted to arrange face-to-face interviews for teachers who are able to come to our Tokyo HQ or Skype web-interviews for those who can’t. Candidates will be asked to bring with them their residence cards, passports, copies of qualifications, and letters of reference. Following the first round of interview candidates will be short-listed for a trial lesson, which will take place at the Shukugawa campus. Following the trial lessons, a final decision will be made and the successful candidate will start as soon as they are able to.
