描述

Borderlink, Inc. is currently seeking Assistant Language Teachers (ALT) for elementary and junior high positions in Tokyo and Saitama. These positions will start from May 2020, but we encourage you to apply now to secure one for yourself!

>>About ALT Work

ALTs work in public elementary and junior high schools, teaching alongside Japanese teachers, helping to facilitate English language instruction. During the day you'll have the chance to interact with students outside the classroom as well, helping to create an atmosphere of cultural exchange and understanding. ALTs work during school hours, affording you a work-life balance that lets you grow professionally, while also having the time to enjoy Japan and its culture.

>>Available Positions

Tokyo area positions will be in Arakawa Ward and Hachioji City. Arakawa is right in the heart of Tokyo, and one of the 23 special wards. It is accessible from surrounding areas via the Yamanote line and various subway lines. Hachioji is a city in western Tokyo about an hour from Shinjuku on the Chuo line. It is an urban area that offers all the comforts of central Tokyo with a quieter, greener lifestyle. Both these areas have full-time as well as part-time (daily wage) positions.

Saitama area positions are in the town of Ogawa, a pleasant semi-rural area accessible by train about 40 minutes from Kawagoe city. It's an idyllic country town that's great if you're looking to avoid large crowds and rush hour traffic.

>>Requirements

In addition to those stated at the top of this advertisement, successful candidates should have the following qualities:

● Have strong verbal and written communication skills
● Being in good health
● Be an excellent, highly adaptable team player
● Be highly motivated, outgoing, flexible, and friendly

*While not required in every position, the ability to drive in Japan is highly valued and does greatly expand the range of possible positions. If you currently posses an International or Japanese driver's license or are looking to get one, be sure to let us know!

>>Benefits

ALTs working with Borderlink can look forward to the following assistance and resources:

● No teaching experience? No problem! We provide initial training, seasonal training, as well as on-the-job training, to ensure that you are ready and have all the tools necessary to succeed in the classroom
● Access to teaching materials and our library of educational resources (worksheets, flashcards, etc.)
● Hassle-free support with renewing your visa (where applicable)
● Help with setting up a bank account and locating housing
● Round-the-clock support - We understand it's not always easy living in a new country, so we provide all of the assistance needed to live and work comfortably
● Work regular school hours (usually between 8 AM to 5 PM) and enjoy free evenings, weekends and national holidays, plus school vacation periods. You can enjoy a work-life balance that lets you grow professionally, while also having the time to explore and enjoy Japan and its culture
● Free monthly consultation from your fellow ALTs with the area facilitator program
● A yearly calendar that allows you to plan your schedule in advance
● Paid holidays (as stipulated by the contract)
● Our annual contracts are renewable, and we welcome back those who remain in good standing with their schools and forge strong relationships with the administration team/office
● Potential career growth opportunities for veteran ALTs, such as becoming an area facilitator or joining our administrative team
