PYP English teacher at a private kindergarten in Okayama（到期)

A private international kindergarten in Okayama, following PYP curricula as well as implementing English immersion, seeks an English teacher. As this kindergarten is run by an organization of IB certified schools, most students are to follow PYP, MYP and DP.

The candidate is expected to teach four skills of English, including phonics, reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Lessons are mostly scheduled in the afternoon. During summer the kindergarten offers intensive course of English to the students. A new teacher would have a option of part-time or full-time. (The salary indicated below is for full-time.)

A new teacher is entitled to take online IB courses, if you don't have an IB certificate.

DUTIES:
classroom management
lesson planning
teaching English based on PYP
weekly teachers' meetings

STARTING DATE: autumn 2024 or early 2025
*negotiable

WORKING　HOUR：
if full-time, 9:00-18:00
if part-time, 14:00-18:00 on weekday/ 9:00-18:00 during summer

WORKING DAY:
Monday to Friday

HOLIDAY:
Saturday and Sunday

Insurance: Private School Mutual Aid and employment insurance
*PSMA is to replace national heath insurance and pension premium
*only for full-time teachers

SALARY:
Salary is determined in accordance with school policy
*salary information is available upon request

ALLOWANCES:
commuting allowance is 21,000 yen at maximum
*allows car commute

current number of pupils in a class: 25 with three teachers
It will be 50 pupils with four teachers in the near future)
Many pupils were in bilingual preschool.


REQUIREMENTS:
current resident in Japan
experience in teaching younger children in Japan
major in education or early childhood education
all the required documents should be ready before the the interview
dedicated, team work, flexible, resilient, easy-going

In the process of application, a strong candidate will be asked to spend a day in the kindergarten for mutual understanding.

Japanese language skill (+N3) is not required, but would be favorable.
