ALTs work directly in Japanese public elementary and junior high schools, aiding Japanese teachers in conducting English lessons. You will become a valued part of the school community, interacting with children and adults alike throughout the day. ALTs go beyond simply teaching English in the classroom, and help create an immersive environment that builds connections and changes lives. 🌸 General position details:
● Contract period: April 2025 to March 2026 (immediate-start positions can be available for those applying from within Japan)
● Contract Type: Full-Time (daily-rate/part-time positions can be available in select areas for candidates applying from within Japan with a valid visa)
● General working days: Between Monday to Friday
● General working hours: Between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
● General school level: Elementary and/or junior high schools
● Location: Various across Japan

🌎 For those currently living outside Japan:
Overseas candidates will start from April 2025 in general, but you can begin the application process today. We will help you prepare for your journey to Japan with online support such as visa application assistance, group chats and Japanese language lessons. 🗾 For those already living in Japan:
If you live in Japan and hold the appropriate resident or working visa type, you could become an ALT in a matter of days if we have an opening that fits you. We recruit year-round and mainly hold our interviews online. If you have prior ALT experience, the ability to drive in Japan and/or are open to relocation, the possibilities widen even further. This opportunity is also open to those currently studying in Japan on Student visas and seeking a post-graduate career.

⚠️ Requirements:
If you are applying from overseas or in Japan and seeking visa sponsorship, you must be a university graduate holding at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent. You also need to have had 12 years of education where English was the main language of instruction used for all classes (i.e. all classes were taught primarily in English).

However, that doesn't mean you need to come from a country where English is the native language. As long as your educational history includes the above-mentioned 12 years, you can be eligible to work as an ALT too.
